I guess I think of it differently. In my mind there is only one "home version" of the A7, and that's the Magnificent. All the others are not in any way A7's.

Looking at the speakers in question, I assumed they were fullsize.

Altec marketed and advertised (at least) the Valencia as a home version of the A7/Voice of the Theater. Even though that was an advertising/marketing move, I still can see some validity in their claim. It has the 416 and the 806 and 811b and 800 hz crossover---same configuration as one of the versions of the A7--but put into a smaller bass reflex cab designed for home use. So, not an A7, but a "home version" of an A7--A7 drivers in a smaller ported box.... Not a big deal either way, I just thought the cabs were interesting. Haven't personally seen any home made cabs advertised as made of Russian Plywood with Aborite Finishing that were designed by someone at Radio Canada..... I'll bet Pavement would sound great cranked up on those ;) (inside joke)

Half right. Not A7. Only the small theater system is an A7. Other VOTT go by other names

Home and MI systems sometime came under the VOTT umbrella, only ones with an A7 type cab should be referred to as A7.

You're right--they were marketed, sold (and some were even labeled) with the Voice of the Theater name. I mentioned A7 because that's what the Valencia, Flamenco, etc. have drivers in common with, but they weren't marketed as home versions of A7, just home versions (or MI versions) of the Voice of the Theater. Thanks OG for helping to put a finer point on this....

No biggie. I got paid for being a detail man for years, old habits are hard to break.:p

One thing that really irks me is all woofers being called "subwoofers". Sub means below. Idiot eBay dealers have 20 dollar cabs with an 8 inch sub and a piezo... worth about the price of an 8 inch sub sandwich IOW 5 bucks...:D

Yeah, if it's a round driver and at least 12" in diameter, it must be a "sub", even if it's an old Jensen, Altec, or some other equally vintage driver.
